Erie Fine Dining, is it a deal?
I’ve thought about getting one of these Erie Fine Dining cards for years… Anyone have any feedback, good or bad on them?
Seem like a pretty good deal. Pay $50, get the card and you can use it twice at each of the 25 restaurants for “buy one get one dinners”. Given that it’s January now is the time to really get the best bang for the buck!
I’m kinda shocked I can’t buy the card online! It’s stupid simple to get some PayPal form of payment and not much more work to accept credit cards right on your own site. Looks like mailing a check or faxing an order form is their accepted methods of payment at the moment (lame in 2010).
I know there are some minor gotchas. A lot of these resturants will put certain dishes on a “no fine dining club card accepted list”. For instance, I think Pufferbelly’s does that with their prime rib dinner some nights.
The list of restaurants is impressive. I’ve actually used their site in the past just to find places to eat.
I haven’t been to a number of them and those I have eaten at I’ve really enjoyed. Theodore’s, for instance, way out on the west side has fantastic food. I especially love their perch, done ‘camp style’ with delicate breading. The CrayZ Parrot has atmosphere out the ying yang with that deck facing the lake, service can be better at times but good seafood and an amazing view of the sunset. Petra’s is amazing. I could go on.
