SharePoint Blunders: Workflow History and Tasks "self delete".
Yargh. I am totally caught in a pickle at work because of this issue. I understand why this works the way it does and that it’s not a design flaw but a necessary evil on Microsoft’s side..but damn…
WSS and MOSS both purge the association between tasks and documents that were assigned during a workflow every 60 days. The tasks are still there (somewhere) but don’t show up in the workflow history after 60 days.
This is a huge issue for “audit-ability” at work and I’m looking towards this article to be my savior in getting the history back!
