The 'Israelification' of airports: High security, little bother
This article makes a some good points. Worth the read to see the comparison of security tactics being used.
The thought that our TSA is a sham is not lost on me. I walked on to a flight at some point last year with a frickin’ 6 inch knife in my backpack on accident. This same bag went through TSA x-ray machines without incident.. it was even mostly empty because my laptop was removed to be scanned individually…
I use this backpack for work everyday and I think at some point that week I brought in bagels for our team and all the neccesary accutraments like cream cheese and a knife to cut the bagels in half. This same knife took a trip with me only to be unpacked at the hotel after arriving to my utter amazement!
So yea, I don’t think the TSA does jack… it’s all smoke and mirrors to make travelers feel safer.
